Bethany Kelley

Hall of Fame trainingBethany studied fiddle with Jim VanCleve — 2026 National Fiddler Hall of Fame inductee, Grammy‑nominated fiddler and two‑time IBMA award winner with Appalachian Road Show.

Bethany has taught violin for more than 15 years. She studied at Berklee College of Music and trained with Grammy‑nominated fiddler and National Fiddler Hall of Fame inductee Jim VanCleve, Augusta Symphony concertmaster Jonathan Aceto and Carl Purdy of Augusta State University — so classical technique and bluegrass fiddle live side by side in her lessons. Bethany also works one‑on‑one with Maury County and Williamson County orchestra students, helping them master their school repertoire, prepare for chair placements and auditions, and play their very best when it counts.

Genre is not a hurdle

A piano and steel guitar solo — played on a fiddle.

A solo by Nashville legends Pig Robbins (piano) and Buddy Emmons (steel guitar) got stuck in Bethany’s head, so she worked it out on fiddle and posted it from the studio. When you truly understand your instrument, genre stops being a wall — any part, from any instrument or style, is just more music and more fun. That’s the musicianship she builds in every student, from orchestra chairs to first fiddle tunes.
